Identifying the serving carrier
The first piece of information needed is to determine the Cellular provider that each individual's cell phone is registered to. This information is necessary for each phone number in question.
This involves Identifying the cellular operator associated with each of the MSISDNs (Mobile Station International Subscriber Directory Number) or mobile phone numbers to be discovered.
This process is performed through our access to the NPAC (National Portability Administration Center) which contains the current correct routing information for all ported and pooled numbers in the United States.
Once the current hosting carrier has been identified for each number being investigated, you can proceed with the generation of Subpoenas specific to each states requirement.
Subpoena the Information
A subpoena is a writ issued by a government agency, court or law firm to compel testimony by a witness or production of evidence under a penalty for failure. The required subpoena type is:
- subpoena duces tecum orders a person or organization to bring physical evidence before the ordering authority or face punishment and is appropriate for requesting historical data from a cellular service provider.
We provide subpoena templates appropriate for the governing jurisdiction and specific to the information required where the motion has been filed. Once the subpoena has been served on the serving carrier(s) the carrier typically has 30 days to produce the evidence. The subpoenas provide detailed requirements of the evidentiary information being sought.
Generate the Evidence
Once the cellular operator provides the data specific to each MSISDN, we pre-process this data into a format appropriate for the generation of graphical evidentiary presentation.
The evidentiary presentation includes graphical illustration of the conversations between the parties as well as the approximate location of each mobile device for the historical period of time requested within the subpoena.
This information will be provided as a secured electronic document suitable for printing within 2 business days of our receipt of the raw data provided by the serving carriers.
